Today the Royals of K.C. called up much touted 1B prospect Justin Huber. For owners waiting for this your time is now. With M. Sweeney on the DL with a bad lower back, Huber has his shot to take the DH and or 1B job as his own. This guy is the real deal and will be taking at-bats away from M. Stairs and D. Mientkiewicz. If you have him in your reserve or minor league roster or available in free agency get him now, while you can. He is not going back down to the minors.

Joe Borchard was placed on waivers by the Mariners and the Florida Marlins claimed him today. What does this do for the rumored trade between Florida and Tampa. I think it delays it a bit, Florida will give Borchard a shot at playing everyday, in the NL he could prove to be a solid pick up. I as do many view the NL as the second best league in baseball. In an NL league whenever an AL player comes over I would jump on him asap. If he was a .260 hitter in the AL he could be a .280 in the NL. But if an NL guy comes over to the AL stay away from him let others go after him stick to the prov-in AL guys 1st. Case in point A. Beltre M's, Glenn Davis Balt. (retired).

The Florida Marlins are trying to trade Scott Olson SP to the Tampa Bay for Joey Gathright OF. This seems to set the stage for Rocco Baldelli coming back from the DL with a starting job waiting for him, this is good news for his fantasy owners. This would also shore up the outfield for the Marlins with Gathright, Willingham and Cabrera. This also means Jeremy Hermida will be relegated to the 4th man in the outfield upsetting some people in fantasy baseball high on the young outfielder. The Marlins have a ton of extra young pitching stockpiled and can afford to deal such a great young talent as Olsen. Gathright, who some consider to be the fasted man in baseball would give Florida the much needed speed they have missed since Juan Pierre left the team.
