Indians And there Closer
Posted by rotoenquire on March 27, 2007
The Indians signed a one year 4.25 million dollar deal woth Joe Borowski. Why only a one year deal the answer is actually very simple. The Indians have two young prospects by the name of Tony Sipp and Edward Mujica. Sipp is a strike out machine with a 11.65 K’s per 9 innings. Hitters are just managing a .201 average against the left hander. Last season he struck out 80 in 60.1 innings pitched.
Mujica was a machine in the minors last season he could not be touched. Mujica went from A to Triple-A ball in one season and did not give up a run till just before being called up by the Indians. Both Mujica and Sipp should compete to be set up men by mid season, but next year the job should be theres to fight over in spring training.
