  • Players To Watch #1

Cameron Maybin OF Fla, This is his year. The prize player from the trade just a little over a year ago is poised to let lose. Maybin has been on this list before and is still very young. A eventual 5 tool guy he is a must own this year in all formats.
  • Players To Watch #2

Matt Wieters C Balt, With R. Hernandez being traded to the reds in the NL. Matt is taking over the young pitching staff of the O's. Will hit for AVG. and be solid defensively, look for power numbers to come along as the year and his career progresses.
  • Players To Watch #3

Neftali Feliz SP Tex, The Rangers needed to start building a pitching staff and no better a young cornerstone than Feliz. He is as close to a sure thing as you can find right now. A power right arm who moved up quickly from low A to Dble A last season will make the jump to the majors this year. If not out of spring training then not to far into the season the Rangers will need to give him a call.
  • Player To Watch #4

Aaron Poreda SP ChiW, People when they think of the Vasquez trade to the Braves think it was a dump of somoene Ozzie just did not like, BUT there was more too it and this Left hander is the real reason why. Look for huim to get a mid year call up and he will not dissapoint.
  • Player To Watch #5

Jason Heyward OF Atl, He will make schafer expendable for the Braves if they are in need of mroe pitching. Heyward is there best bat in the minors and a real star in the making. If you can grab him and stash him do so. Heyward wil be up soon enough and there to stay.
  • Player To Watch #6

Jeremy Hillickson SP T.B., I always try to find that one person most are not talking about, but have the chance to be someone everyone is talking about in a year or two. Hillickson is that guy, with such huge names ahead of him on the prospect epth chart Hillickson gets lost in the mix. I feel he could be the stable force that holds all these great young arms together. Someone to hold onto in AL only leagues and as he proves himself someone to grab in mix'd leagues as well.

R. Ibanez To D-Backs?

Posted by rotoenquire on July 13, 2008

Arizona has started talks for the soon to be free agent OF from Seattle.  The mariners are eyeing, E. Bonifacio 2B, M. Scherzer SP, J. Parker SP, G. Parra OF…

Bonifacio is going to replace O. Hudson when he leaves via F/A and Scherzer is a lock for a rotation spot next year.  That leaves Parker who is 2 years away and Parra who could be a mid season call up next year on the table.

I think Bonifacio would be an upgrade for the M’s at 2nd and if could package J. Lopez and R. Ibanez in a deal together to pull out Bonifacio, Parra and parker would be a steal for the M’s for the long run and go a long way to rebuilding a good young team for next year and 2 years down the road.

Another Interesting Day in MLB

Posted by rotoenquire on July 10, 2008

The Florida marlins are set to recall Josh Johnson SP less than a year removed from Tommy John Surgery.  He is a must pick up in all formats….

The Mariners finally released R. Sexson today and the Angerls and Dodgers ahve expressed interest….Nice to know that the water in Cali is still the same…

Also the M’s paid cash fro Craig Wilson, maybe the M’s are drinking the water as well.  Seems like they cannot do a possitive without a negative tossed in.

Mariners place E. Bedard Sp on the DL retro to the 5th.

Vernon Wells OF Tor is hurt again and will be out another 4-6 weeks..

Francisco Liriano SP Min should be called up after the All-Sat break he has tossed 3 games without giving up a run in a row.

The Cardinals called up pitching prospect Jaime garcia and is a plyer to watch….

Bedard an M?

Posted by rotoenquire on January 27, 2008

Today January 7th Adam Jones was asked top return to the U.S. while game four of the winter ball finals is going on.  No team would ever mess over a playoff winter league team like this unless a deal was done.  The players included in these deal are still just rumors, but Erik Bedard looks to be an M.

Adam Jones himself told local papers in Venezuala that he was told a deal was done and he is off to Balt. to have a physical.  more info to come as I get it.

With The Season About To Get Underway…..

Posted by rotoenquire on January 21, 2008

It is time to start posting again.  I have been watching all the goings on this off season and I have some comments! Imagin that!

First off, the Seattle Mariners.  Yes I am starting with my home team.  The Mariners have been a non factor and have actually for the most part are standing pat or have done what they can too lose what they can.

J. Guillen OF K.C. is one that the M’s have the depth to replace.  Everyone is so high on Adam Jones, but to be honest I am not.  W. Balentin is going to be a much better over all player and should get the starting right fielding job.  The M’s should trade Jones now while he is of such high value.

I believe the Mariners should think as big as the Cubs, E. Bedard and B. Roberts in one big deal.  The reports are the Cubs are offering F. Pie CF, S. Gallagher SP, S. Marshell SP, R. Hill SP, R. Cedenno SS.  I believe the Mariners can match this deal and end up ahead.  On a side note I do not believe the Cubs are going to part with Hill on any deal.

Mariners should offer, C.S. Baek SP, J. Lopez 2B, A. Jones OF, G. Sherrill RP, R. Feierabend SP, C. Triunfel SS.  This would be huge for the M’s and a great pick up for the O’s .  Sherrill has all the makings of being a great set-up guy if not a closer for the O’s.  Baek and Feierabend should be good middle or bottom of the rotation starters.  Triunfel has huge upswing and the status on Jones is he is off hugh value.  Do it and do it quick.

Then again this is Seattle and Bavasi we are talking about, so odds are we the M’s fans will end up with squat!

Is Colorado actually being that smart.  The sighning of Tulo has got to be one of the smartest moves that club has made in years with a contract.  Tulo is now and will be one of the best starting SS in any league for years to come.

Detroit!!! Just give them the trophy now and be done with it.

Florida got a star to make people forget of M. CabreraCameron Maybin is an unbelievabel talent and will be roaming the center field for years in Florida, well until they trade him as well.

On a final note God! I hope the Yankees don’t get J. Santana SP Min I really hate the Yankees, but they would be smarter to keep all those young arms.

St. Louise LaRusa, GM To Be M’s Next Year

Posted by rotoenquire on September 22, 2007

Reports are flowing in from several sources that LaRusa and his long time friend and St. Louise GM Walt Jocketty could both be headed to Seattle in a package deal next year.

New M’s interim manager Joh  McClaren has been dealt a bad hand with a team that over excelled and is now showing there true talent.  The Baseball season truly does show the difference between the good the bad and the ugly. As for M’s current GM Bill Bavasi I have said from him being brought in he was a waist of time and effort in a GM role.  Head of the minors and scouting might be more his strong suit.

If this were to happen I could see a much improved team from the get go.  A manager and GM who can work together to bring in what a manager needs to win, and with a pay roll that can do the job should make for a winning combo.

The Mariners have huge holes for the 08′ season.  They need 2 SP, and need to cut ties with J. Weaver, H. Ramirez and R. Sexson.  The M’s need one of the Sp’s to be a top tier guy.  Could C. Schilling, B. Colon, F. Garcia or J. Westbrook be headed to Seattle?  And what could be the possible value of R. Sexson?  There will be allot of work that needs to be done by any new GM and Manager next year….I just hope that the M’s don’t hold pat or it could mean more of the same for the Seattle home town 9.

Let’s Make A Deal…

Posted by rotoenquire on July 21, 2007

The New York Yankees may actually have a deal for RP Scott Proctor.  ty Wiggington maybe headed out of Tampa for Proctor.  A straight up trade seems low for Wiggington I would believe there is a bat added here some where, maybe Andy Phillips?

The White Sox are finding it harder and harder to deal away Jose Contreras with his poor pitching as of late.  I still feel he will be headed to someone in the NL soon.  The best places for him too go would be the Mets, Phils and Arizona.

The Seattle Mariners are looking for some starting pitching help Steve Trachsel is someone that they are looking at.  Theye are also rumors there still looking for a number 1 or 2 type starter. However there are none available, atleast none that are being talked about as legit rumors…

The Angels are looking for a second baseman to help with there thin roster there due too injury.  Could Jorge cantu be a temp fix that can help?

Arizona Dealing C. Jackson Too The White Sox

Posted by rotoenquire on July 17, 2007

In some fun hot stove chatter it appears C. Jackson along with LHP prospect Brett Anderson could be headed to the White Sox for Starting Pitcher Jon Garland.  I view this as a win-win for both clubs.  Jackson would be a great add for the White Sox and Anderson has some solid potential.

Garland could be the missing piece to help Arizona make a run at the play-offs this year.
